Huawei Has Invested US$500 Million in Car Business Units in 2020 and Builds for Smart Electric Vehicles

According to media reports on October 12, Huawei’s chairman Xu Zhijun disclosed that the company has invested US$500 million in the smart car solution business unit this year, and has not yet considered about short-term profits. Among the five major areas of Huawei car business units, smart electric is a relatively mature business and the fastest to reach customers. At present, Huawei has launched mass-produced and commercialized products for electricity-powered drive systems, vehicle power supplies, and battery management systems. Xu Zhijun said that Huawei plans to install these products into vehicles in early 2022. Furthermore, Huawei launched its subsidiary car technology company Huawei Electric Technology Co on September 8 this year. (Source)
