WAIC 2018 Day Two: Tencent Announces Open AI Platform AI.QQ.COM

At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2018 in Shanghai today, Tencent Mobile Internet Group Vice President Hou Xiaonan announced the company’s new Open AI platform, “AI.QQ.COM.”

AI.QQ.COM is supported by Tencent AI Lab, Tencent Excellent, WeChat AI, etc., and aims to build an AI ecosystem comprising Tencent’s diverse AI technical capabilities. The platform makes more than 100 AI interfaces available to industry. During a test period in the lead-up to today’s launch, AI.QQ.COM received more than 100 million invocations per day.

Xiaonan also officially announced the second phase of Tencent’s AI Accelerator for AI entrepreneurs, which provides partners with solutions in the areas of technology, industry resources, markets, investments, etc.

Although current demand for AI is growing and spreading across various industries, there are still barriers between AI tech development and industry application. The Tencent Open AI Platform release is a significant step towards bridging Tencent’s AI capabilities with industry to promote cooperation and progress in this regard.
